Corrections

Every substantive correction is recorded here, with the date and what changed.

What counts

Logged: a factual error, a figure attributed to the wrong source type, a jurisdiction stated incorrectly, a calculation error, or advice reversed.

Not logged: typographical fixes and clarified wording that does not change meaning.

The correction most worth sending

A figure labelled as one source type that came from another.

The labelling is the rule this site would be least defensible without, and one wrong label undermines every other figure on the page.

And anything legal stated for the wrong jurisdiction, which is the error with the most direct consequences for a reader acting on it.

If you have numbers

What you changed, what happened, over what period.

Particularly where it contradicts something here. Almost nobody publishes their own payment data, which is why this field runs on vendor statistics — and one firm's actual figures are worth more than most of what circulates.

About the removed material

Thirteen articles published on this domain between 2013 and 2015 were removed rather than corrected.

The reasons are stated on the about page. They are not reproduced anywhere and their addresses return a gone response, which is the honest treatment for material that was partly undisclosed commercial writing.

If something here appears to draw on them, that is an error and it will be removed.

The log

No corrections have been logged yet. This site is new in this form, and an empty log means only that.
